Course Overview

This instructor-led Power BI Intermediate to Advanced course is designed for learners who already have a foundational understanding of Power BI and want to develop more advanced skills in data modelling, transformation, DAX, analytics, report design and deployment.

Participants will learn how to design efficient semantic models, perform advanced transformations with Power Query, understand DAX evaluation contexts, create advanced calculations and time intelligence measures, improve report interactivity and performance, and publish secure Power BI solutions. The course combines practical techniques with real-world examples that can be applied across a wide range of industries and organisations.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

Design efficient semantic models using fact and dimension tables
Work with star and snowflake schemas and manage advanced relationships
Perform advanced data transformations using Power Query, including M language fundamentals
Understand row context, filter context and context transition in DAX
Write advanced DAX measures using CALCULATE, iterators, variables and filter functions
Work with inactive relationships using USERELATIONSHIP
Create time intelligence calculations including YTD, previous-year and year-over-year analysis
Build interactive reports using drillthrough, tooltips, bookmarks and conditional formatting
Analyse and improve Power BI report performance
Publish reports, configure refresh and implement Row-Level Security in Power BI Service
